BANANA adorns the botany of the Palić ZOO, so protecting the banana during the winter is important because of its development in the spring. At the beginning of November, before the first frost, the banana tree is cut 20 cm from the ground, well protected with straw about 1 m high and covered with foil. This is how the banana overwinters and reveals itself at the beginning of April. During the spring and summer, the banana reaches a height of up to 2 m.
