Degu squirrel is a small rodent with a long and thin tail, weighing from 170 to 400 g. It is an extremely social rodent that lives in burrows and by digging together they can build larger and more complex burrows than they could do alone. Digging degu coordinate their activities together, forming a digging chain. They have a rich vocal repertoire that includes up to 15 different sounds.
